DATUK SERI ANWAR IBRAHIM WILL OFFICIATE THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE NATIONAL UNION OF BANK EMPLOYEES (NUBE)
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the Annual General Meeting for the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) at 7.30 pm 5 January 2007 at the NUBE Training Centre, KM 13.5 Jalan Pantai Teluk Kemang, 71050 Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the Annual General Meeting for the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) at 7.30 pm 5 January 2007 at the NUBE Training Centre, KM 13.5 Jalan Pantai Teluk Kemang, 71050 Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
In his speech, Datuk Seri Anwar will touch on the challenge for Malaysians in facing globalisation and liberalisation including the second round of mergers and acquisitions in the local banking sector as well as the diminishing national competitiveness.
Datuk Seri Anwar will emphasise on the need for economic renewal to replace the New Economic Policy (NEP) with a National Economic Agenda that combines an emphasis on improving competitiveness as well as preserving social justice regardless of race.
NUBE was established in 1958 and has 30,000 members. This event will be Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's first public event in 2007. He is currently focusing his time and effort in Malaysia to continue the struggle and consolidate Parti Keadilan Rakyat with the other opposition parties.

Walaupun ditomah sebagai pengkhianat bangsa oleh UMNO dalam Perhimpunan Agung UMNO baru-baru ini, kepimpinan dan ketokohan Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim terus diakui dan diiktiraf oleh pelbagai golongan dan terkini Kesatuan Pekerja Bank-bank Kebangsaan (NUBE) berani menongkah arus dengan menjemput Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim untuk merasmikan Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan kesatuan mereka. Diharapkan keberanian dan semangat untuk melakukan perubahan kearah kebaikan ini terus bersemarak dijiwa setiap lapisan masyarakat. Waktu untuk melakukan perubahan telah tiba.
